Mario is a licensed clinical social worker in the state of New York, currently providing individual short-term clinical counseling and facilitating national support groups for professional dancers and choreographers at The Entertainment Community Fund.

In 2018 and 2019, Mario studied the Foundations of Family Therapy and worked with couples and families at the Ackerman Institute for the Family, under the tutelage of Sippio Small and Laurie Kaplan in the Social Work and Diversity Program. In 2022, Mario was hired as a Clinic Therapist at Ackerman’s Latinx Youth Y Family Immigration Project: Dímelo en Español .

Mario’s commitment to social justice and deep interest in liberation-based healing practices gives rise to an anti-oppressive approach to clinical services. Drawing from strength-based and pluralistic perspectives, Mario works to create a safe and affirming space where rapport can be built and life’s challenges can be addressed.
